30.01.15 | Austrian businessmen forge partnerships with Ural metallurgical companies

On January 29 Top Managers of BERTSCH group together with Richard Schenz, Vice-President of Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and Dietmar Fellner, Trade Commissioner of Austrian Embassy, have visited the UMMC Headquarters in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. The Delegation members met with Andrey Kozitsyn, the General Director of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (starting from 2006 Andrey Kozitsyn is Honorary Consul and representative of interests of the Republic of Austria in the Ural region) and Ilya Bondarev, the General Director of UMMC-Agro (company holding agricultural assets of UMMC group). Austrian delegation has represented BERTSCH Group, particularly products and services of BERTSCHenergy (Energy equipment), BERTSCHfoodtec (Technology for milk industry) and BERTSCHlaska (Equipment for meat production). The delegates have also discussed opportunities of cooperation on projects in the Ural region.
- Our visit today pursued two aims: sustaining good relationship, built between Russia and Austria, introduce our BERTSCH Group to our Ural colleagues, which in this year celebrates 90-th anniversary, - says Richard Schenz. – Today during our meeting with Honorary Consul we have also discussed our further steps within cooperation between Austria and Russia.
Visit of Austrian delegation to Yekaterinburg has followed the meetings in Vienne in the Chamber of Commerce of Austria with the Russian delegation in September 2014. During those visits the Ural businessmen introduced industrial and economic development of Sverdlovskaya oblast in the sphere of foreign economic relations with Austria and discussed opportunities to establish innovative hi-tech manufacturing companies in the Middle Ural region. According to Ilya Bondarev, the General Director of UMMC-Agro, today’s meeting yielded a very important engagement.
- In a day or two BERTSCH engineers will visit our milk factory and make technical assessment of our machinery and suggest some interesting and up-to-date ideas for renovation, - explained Ilya Bondarev.
In December, 2014 UMMC-Agro bought out Verkhnepyshminsky milk factory from the Sverdlovskaya oblast administration and now it is planning to reequip and renovate the production line. After the visit to UMMC Austrian visitors had a meeting with Denis Pasler, Chair of the Government of Sverdlovskaya oblast. They discussed perspectives on development of relations between Austria and the Urals. The program of a visit of the Austrian delegation also included a tour to cultural, religious and historic buildings in Yekaterinburg. They visited the Church of All Saints, the monastery of the Holy Imperial Martyrs at Ganya pit, and the monument of the Border between Europe and Asia.
