Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company comprehends the importance of children care, and necessity to build the ground for their growth and self-development. The Group deals with the growing up generation in some spheres: physical training, education, and creative development.
Schoolboys’ healthcare in the corners of the Group activity is one of the topical issues of the social program. A number of sport grounds, swimming pools, and sport gyms have been refurbished and constructed by the Group to train kids in many kinds of sport, let them compete in the contests and sport events.
UMMC enterprises financially support children recreation camps; some companies arrange children’s rest on the base of preventive healthcare centers and health camps. Annually over 10 ths. children have a rest outside the home-towns, 30% of which was lucky to spent summer in the south of the country.
The Group also does its utmost in child delinquency prevention, and participates in social rehabilitation of orphans and children deprived of parental care. First of all it means joint work with municipal authorities in creating positive environment for social and cultural development of the children at least in the areas, where the companies of the Group are located. We charitably support orphan's asylums, children’s health camps, rehabilitation centers for teenagers, and orphanages.
In 1999, a Charity Fund “Children of Russia” was founded by initiative of Andrey Kozitsyn, General Director of UMMC to implement childhood and youth support charity programs.
At the end of 2010 the Group and Charity Fund “Children of Russia” launched in Sverdlovsk oblast a large-scale charity project “They Need You” serving the children with health disorders that require complex expensive treatment. The project purpose is to create a simple effective and transparent system for participation of any Russian citizen. It will assist in establishing a direct link between the children seeking material and psychological support and adults who are ready to provide such support.
